Pay fell at hedge fund Rokos despite one member's £110m haul

Rokos Capital Management had a fine 2024, generating returns of 31% for the calendar year. In the 12 months to March 2024, though, pay for its rank and file fell.

Rokos Services (UK) Limited, a Rokos entity which provides services to its investment staff, released its accounts for the year ending March 2024 yesterday. Headcount there increased by 26 to 193 over the period. However, average 'wages and salaries' fell ~6% to an average £329.2k ($404k).

This isn't the whole story. Like many hedge funds, Rokos has more than one entity. Rokos Capital Management LLP, which contains Rokos' highly paid partners, also filed accounts last week. One member (partner) at the LLP received £110m in distributed profits - £45m more than Rokos Services' entire wage bill.

Rokos has continued to hire since March and has already made senior hires in 2025. They include: Fraser Maingay, a founding portfolio manager of Christophe Aurand's hedge fund Nekton Capital, who's joined as an investment officer; Luke de Oliveria, who's joined as head of artificial intelligence; and Chris Longworth, head of Swiss asset manager GAM's systematic arm, who's joined as head of macro systematic. None of these have, as yet, been added to the partnership.

Thanks for the nice presentation. I am from Canada and would like to know if Rokos Capital Management is affiliated with any entity in my country. Thanks for your attention.
