"I am a summer intern at JPMorgan. This summer will be challenging but ok"
I am a student at a top university and am about to start my summer internship JPMorgan.
I am expecting this year's internships to be challenging, but no worse than usual.

Frankly, I think the uncertainty and turbulence have increased the opportunities to stand out this summer. Banks performed well in the first quarter and it's a good year. If you're early in your career there will be good chances to support your team on fast-moving projects and this is where I think I will prove myself.
I do wonder whether banks might hire fewer people than usual because of AI, but I'm also confident that I'll be able to convert my summer. I plan to do this by showing my willingness to really serve the best interests of my team and to dig into details that might otherwise be overlooked.
If I get given any feedback I will take it onboard and show signs of improvement so that they can see that I'm open to learning. And I'll do my very best to form connections with my team. I think this is the recipe for conversion, although I know it's not all down to me.
I do think that internships in banking have become more and more competitive. I expect to have to work very hard, but I am used to that. My only slight issue might be working hard in a work context, rather than at college, where it's not mandatory.
