About the role

This is a 3 month contract with possibility to extend.

We are seeking a Junior IT Support Officer to assist with the onboarding and offboarding of employees. You will help ensure new starters have the access, equipment and support they need, while ensuring departing employees are securely offboarded.

Key responsibilities

• Set up laptops, desktops, phones and other IT equipment for new employees.
• Create and update user accounts in line with approved procedures.
• Assign software licences, permissions and access to required systems.
• Prepare onboarding checklists and ensure tasks are completed on time.
• Provide basic technical support to new starters during their first days.
• Collect equipment and disable accounts when employees leave.
• Remove access to applications, systems and shared resources during offboarding.
• Maintain accurate records of equipment, accounts and access changes.
• Log and update requests in the IT service desk system.
• Escalate complex technical or security issues to senior IT staff.
• Follow IT security, privacy and access-control procedures.

About you

• Some experience in IT support, service desk or a similar role.
• Basic understanding of Windows, Microsoft 365 and user account administration.
• Good communication and customer-service skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow checklists.
• Organised, reliable and able to manage multiple requests.
• Willingness to learn and develop technical skills.
• Relevant IT qualification or certification is desirable but not essential.
