The key responsibilities of the role include:
  • Lead the Financial Crime Compliance (FCC) risk assessment program, including a nti-money laundering, countering the financing of terrorism, countering proliferation financing and economic sanctions
  • Drive ongoing enhancements to the FCC risk assessments and associated standards, methodology and processes and e nsure they align to applicable AML and economic sanctions laws, regulations and industry guidance.
  • Identify, document, and measure risk to assess the appropriateness of the company's FCC-related internal controls.
  • Work closely with stakeholders and assessors across the firm to deliver valuable and actionable risk assessment outputs, aligned to FCC priorities.
  • Establish written guidance on the appropriate implementation of FCC risk assessments and deliver training to assessors and other stakeholders. Act as the primary contact point within the Company for FCC risk assessment inquiries from partners.
  • Identify trends and emerging risks in the Company's businesses and legal entities, and at the enterprise level, based on risk assessment results. Guide management in developing or enhancing internal controls to minimize such risk.
  • Enhance management reporting on risk assessments and provide updates to governance bodies.
  • Interact with business partners, regulators, and internal and external auditors on regulatory topics.
  • Operate independently with in-depth AML and economic sanctions knowledge and serve as a subject matter expert on FCC risk assessments.
  • Manage projects, meet deadlines and balance competing priorities.
The successful candidate will benefit from having:
  • Knowledge of risk management and the Company's strategic goals. In-depth knowledge of regulations and local laws acquired through formal education and work experience is required. Communication and analytical skills are necessary to consult with partners and analyze information and apply regulations.
  • 10 or more years of experience in AML, Sanctions or Financial Crime Compliance.
  • 5 or more years of experience focused on financial crime risk assessments.


Salary Range:
$83,100 - 141,300 USD

Salary range is a good faith estimate of base pay. Northern Trust provides a comprehensive benefits package including retirement benefits (401k and pension), health and welfare benefits (medical, dental, vision, spending accounts and disability), paid time off, parental and caregiver leave, life & accident insurance, and other voluntary and well-being benefits. Northern Trust also provides a discretionary bonus program that may include an equity component.
