Investment Banking Analyst - Business Services
Our client, a leading middle-market investment bank, is seeking an Investment Banking Analyst to join its growing Business Services coverage team in Chicago. The group advises founder-owned, private equity-backed, and publicly traded companies across a broad range of commercial services sectors, including infrastructure services, facility services, engineering and consulting, environmental services, and other outsourced business services.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated investment banking professional to gain meaningful transaction experience, work directly with senior bankers, and play an active role in the execution of M&A and capital markets transactions. The position offers significant responsibility, strong mentorship, and exposure to clients, investors, and advisers throughout the deal process.
Key Responsibilities
- Build, maintain, and analyze complex financial models used in M&A and capital markets transactions.
- Perform valuation analyses, including discounted cash flow (DCF), public comparables, and precedent transactions.
- Conduct detailed company, industry, and market research.
- Prepare client presentations, pitch materials, confidential information memoranda, and other transaction-related materials.
- Support the execution of live M&A, financing, and strategic advisory engagements.
- Coordinate with clients, attorneys, accountants, and other deal participants throughout transaction processes.
- Develop a deep understanding of transaction execution, financial analysis, and sector dynamics within the business services landscape.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Approximately 1-3 years of investment banking experience.
- Strong financial modeling, valuation, and analytical capabilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive.
- Demonstrated intellectual curiosity and strong business judgment.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
