Overview
Seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer to lead the technical direction of transaction monitoring, risk detection, and customer risk rating systems. This role will partner closely with Product, Risk, Compliance, and Analytics teams to build scalable backend services that support regulatory and operational requirements.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop risk controls and backend services supporting transaction monitoring and verification processes.
- Build reliable, scalable, and observable systems that meet strict availability and latency requirements.
- Translate regulatory and operational requirements into technical solutions.
- Own services end-to-end, including architecture, development, testing, deployment, and operational support.
- Participate in design reviews, documentation, and operational readiness activities.
- Mentor engineers and contribute to engineering best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 7+ years of backend software development experience.
- Strong experience with Java, Kotlin, Go, or other modern backend languages.
- Experience building microservices and distributed systems in AWS or similar cloud environments.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, scalability, resiliency, and fault tolerance.
- Experience working with SQL, data pipelines, and large-scale data processing.
- Experience partnering with product and business stakeholders.
- Proven ability to own and operate production systems end-to-end.
- Financial services, payments, fraud detection, risk management, or compliance systems.
- Large-scale cloud-native environments.
- High-volume transaction processing systems.
- Distributed Systems & Microservices Development
- AWS Cloud Engineering
- Backend Development (Java, Kotlin, Go) with Strong Data Fluency
