Day to day duties
- Lead the firm's technical, compliance and risk framework across the Restructuring & Insolvency service line, ensuring adherence to regulatory, statutory and internal requirements.
- Act as the subject matter expert for complex insolvency, restructuring, risk and compliance matters, providing guidance to partners and colleagues.
- Oversee internal compliance reviews, cold file reviews and regulatory monitoring activities, driving continuous improvement and best practice across the business.
- Manage relationships with regulatory bodies and lead preparations for inspections, monitoring visits and compliance reviews.
- Monitor regulatory and legislative developments, ensuring timely implementation of updates to policies, procedures and operational documentation.
- Deliver technical training, support professional development initiatives and promote a strong culture of compliance across the R&I team.
- Report on compliance performance, risks and regulatory matters to senior leadership, supporting effective governance and decision-making.
- Lead or contribute to risk, acceptance and governance committees, providing technical oversight and ensuring robust risk management processes.
- Support strategic projects, operational change initiatives and acquisitions, providing technical and regulatory expertise throughout.
What are we looking for?
- Strong technical knowledge of insolvency legislation and regulatory frameworks, including Scottish insolvency law.
- Minimum of 4 years insolvency compliance at the level of Manager and above.
- JIEB qualification mandated; CPI or ACA/ACCA.
- Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem-solving.
- Strong communication, influencing and mentoring skills, with the ability to engage and motivate at all levels.
- Experience managing compliance in a multi-office or cross-border environment.
- Knowledge of AML, Client Money Regulations, and the Insolvency Code of Ethics.
- Project management skills and the ability to lead change initiatives.
- Strong leadership skills and efficiency of implementing change where necessary.
