Middleware Engineer
What is the opportunity?
We are looking for a Middleware Engineer to join our UK IT Engineering & Delivery team within Enterprise Services. This is a great opportunity to play a key role in delivering and supporting critical mortgage technology platforms used across the Bank.
You will help design, build and implement integration solutions that support mortgage origination and servicing applications, working alongside a highly skilled team of engineers and technical specialists. If you enjoy solving sophisticated technical challenges and contributing to large-scale projects, this role offers excellent opportunities to grow your expertise and make a real impact.
In this role, you will:
- Design, develop and support integration solutions using Axway and JBoss technologies in a Linux environment, helping to deliver key mortgage platform projects.
- Provision and maintain development and test environments, including supporting build automation and deployment activities.
- Collaborate with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, development teams and third-party suppliers to deliver project milestones and resolve technical challenges.
- Identify technical risks, dependencies and improvement opportunities while helping to implement secure, scalable and future-focused solutions.
- Support production implementations, provide project updates and offer technical guidance for complex incidents when required.
What will make you stand out?
You will be someone who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and takes ownership of delivering solutions that make a difference. Strong organisational skills, the ability to handle opposing priorities and a proactive approach to problem-solving will help you succeed in this role.
You will also have:
- Strong technical expertise in Axway or JBoss, ideally both, within a Linux environment.
- Experience of Bash scripting and build automation.
- Proven experience in an application development or middleware engineering role.
- Strong Agile delivery experience, including tools such as Jira and Confluence.
- The ability to work independently while also contributing positively within cross-functional teams.
Experience with the following will help you stand out but is not required to apply for this role:
- Python development.
- Oracle databases and Oracle middleware technologies.
- DevOps practices and tooling.
