Octavius Finance has been exclusively retained by a leading long/short equity hedge fund to appoint an Investor Relations / Business Development professional to join its London-based team.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established investment platform with a strong performance track record and ambitious growth plans. The successful candidate will work closely with senior leadership, playing a key role in supporting capital raising initiatives, managing existing investor relationships, and helping expand the firm's institutional investor base.

The Role

Responsibilities will include:

1. Supporting and executing the firm's institutional fundraising strategy.
2. Building and developing relationships with institutional investors, family offices, wealth managers, consultants, and other allocators.
3. Managing prospective investors throughout the fundraising process, from initial engagement through to allocation.
4. Maintaining strong relationships with existing investors, providing a high standard of ongoing client service.
5. Working closely with the investment team to communicate portfolio performance, positioning, and investment strategy.
6. Preparing and delivering high-quality marketing materials, presentations, and responses to investor due diligence requests.
7. Representing the firm at investor meetings, conferences, and industry events.

Candidate Profile

We are looking to speak with professionals who have:

1. 6-12 years of experience in Investor Relations, Business Development, Capital Raising, or Institutional Sales within a hedge fund, alternative asset manager, or broader investment management business.
2. Experience working with institutional investors, family offices, consultants, or private wealth channels.
3. A strong understanding of long/short equity strategies and the broader hedge fund landscape.
4. Excellent relationship management and communication skills, with the ability to engage sophisticated investors.
5. A commercial mindset with a genuine interest in helping grow a successful investment business.
6. The ambition to develop into a senior fundraising professional within a high-performing organisation.
