ESG Analyst / Sustainable Investing Analyst, Asset Management, London

Our client, a global and reputable asset manager, is looking for a Sustainable Investing Analyst, based in London, to join their sustainable investing team. 

The role will be important in integrating ESG considerations on multiple levels. The role will provide ESG data and risk analysis to equity, fixed income, and real estate teams on issues impacting their funds. The successful candidate will also collaborate with client-facing teams to educate consultants, clients, and prospects on the firm’s ESG strategy. The role will be a spokesperson on ESG matters both internally through company-wide education and externally.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct research and produce reports on ESG issues impacting the firm’s funds to support equity analysts and portfolio managers in the investment strategy and process
• Complete ESG research relating to funds and on a sector level and highlighting key themes for both
• Work with client-facing teams in producing material (presentations, quarterly and annual reports, and other material as needed), to educate clients on the firm’s ESG strategy and sustainability issues
• Support RFP teams and other institutional support teams across the global business in elaborating responses to questionnaires related to ESG and sustainability thematics
• Represent the firm as a leader in sustainable investment at ESG-related conferences, associations, events, shareholder meetings, and panel discussions as needed
• Conduct market intelligence research and produce thought leadership on ESG thematics as needed by the marketing teams
• Be a key point of contact within the firm on ESG matters for internal stakeholders and others across teams including product development, equity research, investment directors, sales and marketing, institutional, legal and compliance
• Provide ESG training for the firm’s global investment teams
• Support strategy efforts by preparing policy drafts, thematic memoranda, and research notes on ESG topics
• Support the investment selection process by analysing proxy material and producing voting recommendations
• Collaborate with the policy, legal and compliance teams in responding to regulatory consultations

Requirements:

• Relevant experience or demonstrated interest in ESG investment, ideally within asset management
• Significant understanding of ESG thematics 
• High research, analytical, and writing skills
• Ability to advocate to senior management and external stakeholders
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Team player with strong communication skills and accountability
• Creative mindset and eager to learn
