Description
- Monitor and manage trade finance exposures, facility utilisation, and collateral positions across a portfolio of commodity-focused clients.
- Assess transaction structures and financing requests to ensure alignment with approved credit parameters and internal risk frameworks.
- Oversee collateral throughout the transaction lifecycle, including inventory, receivables, shipment tracking, insurance, and security documentation.
- Conduct borrowing base reviews and collateral valuation analysis to ensure adequate security coverage against outstanding exposures.
- Identify and escalate deviations, emerging risks, and unusual transaction activity to relevant stakeholders.
- Partner closely with Relationship Managers, Credit Risk, Operations, Compliance, and external counterparties to facilitate transaction execution.
- Support ongoing process improvements, portfolio reporting, and maintenance of accurate transaction and collateral records.
Profile
- Degree in Finance, Business, Commerce, Economics or a related discipline.
- 3+ years of experience in Trade Finance, Commodity Finance, Structured Trade Finance, or Trade Operations/Middle Office environments.
- Strong understanding of trade finance instruments including Letters of Credit, Guarantees, Loans, and related financing structures.
- Knowledge of inventory-backed financing, borrowing base facilities, working capital finance, and collateral management principles.
- Experience assessing transaction risks, exposure monitoring, and exception handling within a banking environment.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate complex transactions and identify potential risks.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced operational environment.
- Effective stakeholder management and communication skills across internal and external parties.
