Job Description

Directors in Product Development/Management at Visa are responsible for leading the development, commercialization, and optimization of technology products within the payments ecosystem. This role requires deep expertise in product strategy, design, and execution, with a focus on delivering innovative solutions that address customer needs and drive business growth. Directors operate in complex, matrixed environments, collaborating across functions to define product goals, manage lifecycles, and ensure successful launches and ongoing enhancements.

The position demands strong analytical and problem-solving skills, the ability to navigate ambiguity, and a proven track record of recruiting, growing, and retaining technical talent. Directors are expected to drive consensus in cross-functional teams, forecast business trends, and translate insights into agile technology solutions. Exceptional communication and leadership skills are essential for influencing stakeholders and building credibility across regional and functional lines.

All roles require digital fluency, including the ability to work with emerging technologies such as Generative AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot) to support everyday work.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and execute product strategy, vision statements, and product goals.
• Lead product design, customer discovery, and the development of new products based on market and customer insights.
• Manage the entire product lifecycle from ideation to launch and post-launch optimization.
• Collaborate with engineering, design, and cross-functional teams to deliver technology solutions.
• Conduct market research, customer, and competitive analysis to guide product development.
• Drive consensus and influence decision-making in matrixed, global environments.
• Recruit, grow, and retain high-caliber technical talent.
• Forecast business trends and translate them into agile technology solutions.
• Structure and manage complex projects and processes with multiple stakeholders.
• Present information and facilitate group discussions across geographic and functional lines.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.

Qualifications

• Senior product management experience in Digital, Payments, and Financial Services.
• Proven track record of launching and managing digital products for issuers.
• Deep background in issuing institutions and managing large card portfolios.
• Experience in developing or launching new solutions and managing engagement, UX, and UI transformation.
• Experience leading difficult deal negotiations and managing third-party vendors.
• Ability to structure and manage complex cross-enterprise projects and processes.
• Superior analytical and problem-solving skills with demonstrated intellectual rigor.
• Experience managing diverse teams with positive records.

• Experience in creating vision statements and setting product goals.
• Experience in defining product strategy.
