Role Value Proposition

We are seeking a highly skilled bilingual Full Stack Software Engineer (Japanese & English - mandatory) to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills in both languages to effectively collaborate with local and global stakeholders.

While the primary focus is on bilingual capability, the candidate should also have hands-on experience with IBM Operational Decision Manager (ODM) to support business rules development and decision services implementation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain applications with a focus on business rules and decision services.
• Work closely with Japanese and global teams, ensuring seamless bilingual communication.
• Develop and manage IBM ODM (v9.x) rule projects, including authoring, testing, and deployment.
• Debug and optimize business rule applications.
• Participate in Agile development practices and contribute to continuous improvement.

Candidate Qualifications:

Education:

• Bachelor of Computer Science or equivalent

Experience:

• At least 5+ years of experience in software design, development, testing, and support of enterprise applications.

• Hands-on experience with IBM ODM (Rule Designer / Decision Center) for rule authoring, development, and deployment.
• Experience developing scalable, resilient, and secure applications in complex or regulated environments (insurance domain is a plus).
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) including CI/CD, test-driven development (TDD), and Agile methodologies (including shift-left practices)
• Experience working in cross-functional and global teams, leveraging bilingual communication in Japanese and English

Skills and Competencies:

Mandatory

• Fluent bilingual capability (Japanese & English) - both written and verbal.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work in a multicultural, global environment.

Technical (Secondary Priority)

• IBM ODM (v9.x)
• Azure DevOps (CI/CD)
• Cloud exposure (Azure preferred)
