A Foreign Corporate Bank is seeking an experienced Treasury Operations Vice President to oversee treasury operations activities, drive operational excellence, and lead a high-performing team within its Hong Kong office.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and supervise the end-to-end operations of treasury and financial markets transactions, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and effective risk management.
- Lead and develop a team of operations professionals, providing coaching, guidance, and performance management.
- Review and validate management, regulatory, and head office reporting to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Monitor settlement exposures and operational risks, proactively resolving exceptions and escalation items.
- Authorize transactions, settlements, and payments while ensuring appropriate controls, documentation, and counterparty confirmation processes are adhered to.
- Partner with senior management to deliver departmental objectives and strategic initiatives.
- Drive process enhancement, operational efficiency, automation, and control framework improvements.
- Develop operational procedures, policy documentation, and staff training programs.
- Lead regulatory, technology, and business change initiatives impacting treasury operations.
- Participate in cross-functional projects and strategic assignments as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Banking, Business Administration, or a related discipline. Advanced qualifications are advantageous.
- 10+ years of treasury or markets operations experience within a financial institution, with at least 5 years of team management experience.
- Strong product knowledge across treasury and capital markets products, including:
- Interest Rate Swaps (IRS)
- Cross Currency Swaps (CCS)
- Debt Capital Markets (DCM)
- Fixed Income and Securities Settlement
- Solid understanding of market infrastructure, settlement processes, and payment systems, including SWIFT, CHATS, CMU, and other market utilities.
- Familiarity with OTC derivatives reporting requirements and broader regulatory reporting obligations.
- Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to drive process improvements and strengthen operational controls.
- Fluent in English and Chinese.
