The organization is investing significantly in smarter, AI-driven ways of working, and this role sits right at the center of that shift, with a clear mandate to modernize how quality and testing are done across the business.

Job Responsibilities

• Own the overall quality strategy across projects, enhancements, releases, and production fixes, deciding what "ready to ship" looks like and keeping delivery teams accountable to it.
• Champion the shift toward AI-powered testing, bringing in AI and machine-learning-based tools to speed up test creation, improve accuracy, and reduce reliance on manual effort across functional, regression, and API testing.
• Build out reusable test assets, automation standards, and continuous testing practices that the wider team can rely on.
• Work closely with product owners, business subject matter experts, engineering teams, and vendors to ensure requirements are testable and quality expectations are clear from the outset.
• Focus testing efforts on core insurance processes such as policy administration, claims, underwriting, billing, renewals, endorsements, and customer servicing.
• Ensure testing practices align with regulatory, audit, and risk expectations relevant to the insurance industry.
• Partner with DevOps and engineering teams to embed automated testing into CI/CD pipelines where feasible.
• Track and report on quality indicators, including defect leakage, test coverage, cycle time, automation coverage, and overall release readiness.
• Mentor and guide testers and automation specialists, including those from vendor or outsourced teams.

Requirements

• 8+ years in quality assurance or testing, with genuine leadership experience on delivery or transformation programs, including 2+ years of leading a team directly.
• Strong grounding in testing within an insurance context — ideally across policy, claims, billing, underwriting, or customer servicing systems.
• A degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
• Hands-on experience designing test strategies and building automation
• Exposure to AI-enabled testing concepts, such as defect prediction and analytics, self-healing automation, or intelligent test case generation.
• Proven ability to manage stakeholders and resolve issues across multiple teams, vendors, and workstreams, backed by strong communication skills.
• Certifications in testing or QA are an advantage — tool-specific automation certifications, Agile testing credentials, or AI/data/automation-related certifications will help a candidate stand out.
• Chinese/Mandarin writing and communication highly preferred — bilingual ability will be a strong advantage.
