Company Background:

1. A SFC-licensed investment bank in Hong Kong (Types 1, 4, 6 & 9), backed by a major Chinese state-owned banking group. The firm provides a full suite of services across Investment Banking (IBD), Debt Capital Markets (DCM), Equity Capital Markets (ECM), Corporate Finance, and Global Markets.

Responsibility:

1. Lead and supervise the daily operations of the department, ensuring efficient and accurate clearing and settlement services for securities, corporate finance, and related businesses in Hong Kong
2. Provide operational support to Global Markets activities, with a primary focus on FICC products and secondary support for Hong Kong cash equities
3. Monitor and control operational risks, and effectively manage contingency situations and exceptional cases
4. Ensure all operational procedures and activities fully comply with SFC regulatory requirements and internal policies
5. Continuously review and enhance operational workflows to maintain accuracy, integrity, and efficiency
6. Develop, implement, and maintain internal operational policies and procedures covering dealing, risk control, and settlement
7. Establish and maintain clear escalation and reporting frameworks to enable timely communication of operational and risk issues to different levels of management
8. Lead the formulation of business requirements for system development and enhancement projects
9. Drive process re-engineering and operational reviews across key activities
10. Design and implement new operational processes to support new business initiatives
11. Investigate settlement discrepancies and resolve related outstanding issues in a timely manner
12. Establish and regularly update daily policies and procedures to sustain the efficiency of the back-office function
13. Conduct stress testing and risk evaluations in support of business line expansion
14. Manage operational readiness and support for IPO and other primary market transactions

Requirement:

1. Degree holder in a related discipline
2. Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in operations / clearing & settlement within the securities or investment banking industry
3. At least 3 years of management experience
4. Solid knowledge of electronic settlement systems, including CCASS, CMU, Euroclear, and SWIFT
5. Strong understanding of the Hong Kong securities market environment and SFC regulatory requirements
6. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with fluency in written and spoken Chinese (Mandarin)
