Collateral Management Operations VP

The Collateral Management Operations VP oversees the development and execution of margin management strategies to support effective collateral and risk mitigation. The role aligns with the organisation’s focus on robust risk controls and comprehensive collateral oversight.

The position reports to senior leadership within the credit or risk management teams and leads the collateral management department. Responsibilities include managing margin strategy and operations, supervising accounting and financial flows, mitigating risk during market volatility, overseeing counterparty data management, supporting new product launches, and facilitating departmental collaboration. Success in this role is measured by effective margin control, risk mitigation, accurate reporting, and seamless team coordination.

• Formulate and implement margin management strategies, including variable margin calculation and interest management
• Execute margin payments, track receipts, and carry out system reconciliations
• Oversee internal and external margin flows, collections, and recoveries
• Supervise and approve all manual and automated bookkeeping activities related to margins
• Adjust margin strategies dynamically during market volatility and alert key departments
• Partner with Risk Management on margin call decisions for high-risk counterparties
• Oversee onboarding and annual review workflows for OTC counterparties
• Ensure complete and accurate data entry in S&P and internal systems
• Support the launch of new derivative and fixed-income products, assisting with pre-launch testing
• Facilitate seamless transfers and settlements across departments
• Provide support within the credit team, including credit report generation and regulatory inquiries
• Build and lead the collateral management team, integrating functions across front office and operational units

Requirements

• Right to work in the relevant jurisdiction
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, Risk Management, Economics, or a related field
• 8–10 years of experience in collateral/margin management, with a background in OTC derivatives, fixed income, or prime brokerage
• In-depth knowledge of credit risk management, OTC derivatives lifecycle, and collateral workflows
• Advanced proficiency in MS Excel; experience with VBA, Python, or SQL is advantageous
• Business fluency in English and Chinese (Mandarin and Cantonese), both written and spoken
• Proven leadership skills and stakeholder management experience

This is a permanent position based in Asia with on-site requirements, with an expected duration of 2 weeks starting from 16/09/2026.
