Senior Operations Manager

Sydney | $220k inc. super + bonus | 5 days in office

A highly established and regulated financial services organisation is seeking an experienced Senior Operations Manager to lead a sizeable operational function and play a key role in the continued development of the business.

This is an excellent opportunity for an operations professional with a background in wealth management, investment management, financial advice or a similar financial services environment who enjoys being close to the detail while also driving process improvement, team performance and operational change.

The Role

• Lead, manage and develop a sizeable operations team
• Oversee day-to-day operational activities, ensuring high standards of accuracy, service and delivery
• Review and improve operational processes, systems and workflows
• Identify opportunities to increase efficiency through automation and technology
• Maintain strong operational controls, governance and risk management
• Work closely with senior stakeholders across the business to resolve issues and deliver improvements
• Lead operational change and process improvement initiatives
• Develop a high-performing, accountable and collaborative team
• Act as a key point of escalation for complex operational matters

About You

You will be an experienced operations professional with a strong understanding of wealth management or broader financial services operations and a track record of successfully leading teams.

Ideally, you will bring:

• Experience managing a sizeable operations team within wealth management, investment management, financial advice or a related financial services environment
• Strong understanding of operational processes, controls and risk
• Experience working within a highly regulated environment
• A track record of improving processes, systems and operational efficiency
• Strong people leadership and team development skills
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
• The ability to understand operational detail while taking ownership of broader improvements
• A proactive, practical and commercially minded approach

This role would suit someone who is currently operating at Senior Manager / Operations Manager level and is ready to take ownership of a significant team and broader operational remit.

This is a 5-day-per-week office-based role in Sydney.
