About the Role
We're partnering with an innovative engineering business developing next-generation robotics, automation and sensing technologies for the mining industry.
Working as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team, you'll help design, develop and integrate software that powers intelligent automation systems from concept through to deployment. This is a hands-on role offering exposure to robotics, industrial controls, IoT, computer vision and modern software engineering practices.

What You'll Be Doing
- Develop high-quality software using C++ and Python for robotics and automation applications.
- Design, test and deploy software integrated with hardware, sensors and industrial control systems.
- Build and maintain APIs, software libraries and system integrations.
- Develop automation and control functionality using modern engineering practices.
- Integrate IoT devices and sensor data into intelligent automation platforms.
- Investigate and resolve software, integration and performance issues.
- Collaborate with Mechanical, Electrical and Robotics Engineers throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Support testing, commissioning and continuous product improvement.
- Contribute to technical documentation, version control and software deployment processes.
- Evaluate and prototype emerging technologies that enhance future product capability.
What We're Looking For
- Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Commercial software development experience using C++ and/or Python.
- Experience integrating software with hardware, automation or robotics platforms.
- Strong understanding of Linux environments, APIs and software libraries.
- Experience working across multidisciplinary engineering projects.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Experience with any of the following will be highly regarded:
- ROS2 or MoveIt2
- CodeSys
- EtherCAT
- Computer Vision or AI
- IoT and sensor integration
- Git
- Azure
- Snowflake
- Streamlit
- Mining, industrial automation or autonomous systems
