Typical candidates will have experience in a macro research role at either a sell side bank or buy side firm. The position requires someone who enjoys working in a team oriented environment. Macro Research Analyst

A Global Macro Hedge Fund is looking to add a Macro Research Analyst to their investment team. The fund trades currencies, fixed income, commodities, and equity derivatives across developed and liquid emerging markets.

 

The right candidate will work with the senior investment team conducting fundamental macro research, daily monitoring and tracking of global economic data releases, events, markets trends/developments, and contribute to the investment process. The successful candidate is expected to help with preparation of internal and external documentation (spreadsheets, PPT, etc) on trade analysis, portfolio data/statistics, weekly/monthly investment letters and special projects.

 

Typical candidates will have experience in a macro research role at either a sell side bank or buy side firm. The position requires someone who enjoys working in a team oriented environment. Traders wishing to independently manage their own book should not apply to this position.

 

 

 

Job Summary & Responsibilities 

 

  • Develop quantitative models to forecast economic growth, inflation, interest rates, and FX
  • Interpret and comment on high-frequency economic data releases
  • Generate unique thematic written research reports
  • Present economic/market views to external clients and internal portfolio team
     

 

Responsibilities and Qualifications

 

  • 1-3 Years of sell-side or buy-side research role focus on macro
  • Masters or PhD in economics preferred but not required
  • Strong expertise in Macrobond, Bloomberg, etc. to develop reports
  • Deep knowledge of data and exemplary analytical skills and insight
  • A proven capability for original and thought-provoking research
  • Ability to work both autonomously and in a close team setting
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Great attention to detail and multi-tasking abilities
