Market Analyst, Risk Manager

 

Our company is an international commodity trading company.  As part of our growth strategy and development, we are looking for our firm’s Geneva based branch for an experienced Market Analyst, Risk Manager focusing on the agri and petroleum commodities in the Black Sea region.

We offer a full time (only) position which shall involve extensive international travels on short notice. The candidate should be a Russian native speaker, fluent in both English and French and available immediately;

Mission:

  • Analysis of agricultural commodity markets
  • Analysis of petroleum commodity markets
  • Risk management analysis for the management
  • Operational risk management of trades and related logistic issues
  • Production of daily notes, weekly and monthly reviews
  • Development of new sourcing strategies with a particular focus on the Black Sea region (Russia, Ukraine, Romania)
  • Developed analytical skills to analyse global political climate and forecast main opportunities challenges for our company’s business
  • Support to Business Development teams in this region
  • Be an active participant within a community that provides thought leadership, project support artefacts and analytical concepts for use within the practice

Experience and skills:

  • 2-4 years of experience in commodity trading operations and analytics focusing on Black Sea area, Eastern European regions.
  • Knowledge of the entire trade lifecycle from origination to settlement.
  • Excellent knowledge of commodity trading cycle (both agricultural and petroleum commodities) on micro and macro levels as well as specific focus on the agricultural commodity market of Morocco, Egypt, West Africa are a must.
  • Strong operational experience in trade finance and financial instruments.
  • Master’s degree in international relations and work experience with governmental organisations in Russia and/ or Ukraine are a plus.
  • Understanding of dynamics and business culture in former Soviet Union countries as well as preferably a solid network for potential business expansion in this region.
  • Smart, precise and well organised.
