Junior Ui Developer

We are looking for a Junior UI Developer to join our Wealth Agile Release Train.

This role is a great opportunity for someone with the desire to share their platform products and technical expertise, alongside their UI development skills, to work in Intermediary Portal team.

About the role

The candidate will be working in an agile team to deliver key digital features for the Wealth business. The main responsibilities will be:

• Build and maintain features within our digital online portal using industry best practices

• Solve interesting and challenging problems through programming

• Participate in various technical discussions and help drive innovation within the platform

• Participate in team planning, designing and shaping responsive web solutions in a DevOps manner

• Work with our awesome and geographically-dispersed teams

About you

We are looking for candidates with the following skill set and experience:

• Good core Java experience

• Good experience with client side technologies, HTML, CSS, JavaScript and common frameworks (e.g. AngularJS, Karma, Jasmine, SCSS)

• Some knowledge of micro-services driven architecture in Cloud hosting and associated technology stack (e.g. AWS, Docker)

• Good experience using and developing RESTful APIs using JSON

• Good understanding of Continuous Integration(CI), Continuous Deployment(CD) and Test/Behaviour Driven Development(TDD/BDD)

• Solid SQL and relational database experience (preferably DB2 / Sybase / Oracle)

• Good communication and interpersonal skills, and be able to effectively tailor communications to a diverse range of business and technical stakeholder groups

• Proactive and flexible approach to work, ability to operate independently

• Good problem definition & solving skills

• Works well under pressure to provide deliverables in a timely manner and to a high standard

Nice to haves

Whilst not necessary, it would be beneficial for the candidate to have experience in the following areas:

• Digital online portals

• AWS and cloud technologies

• Continuous integration and continuous delivery
